My Favorite Mother’s Day Story & An Ebook Weekend Giveaway

Amy & Julie!!! Check your email!

Thanks for your comments; LOVED reading them. Have a great week!

This week I was thinking about all the mothers of the Bible and their stories.  When I look at them, they sure went through a lot of heartache, didn’t they?

I mean, the very first mother in the Bible, Eve, didn’t exactly have perfect children from the get-go.  One son killed the other. Wow, the human race, off to a great start!  And then there’s Jochabed, Moses’ mother, who had to hide her baby in the river to keep the king from killing him.  Poor Sarah, she waited for motherhood until her husband was “as good as dead.” Now THAT was a long wait. There’s the tale of the beautiful Bathsheba who lost her sweet baby boy to Heaven before she had the chance to get to know him.

The point is mothers of the Bible…they shared the same heartaches as we do.  Sibling rivalry, in-law matters, miscarriage, loss of child, infertility…and the list could go on and on.

In my ebook “The Sensational Scent of Prayer,” released just this week, the Bible story focus is mostly on Hannah.  Her story is absolutely intriguing; did you know that she is the only woman in the Bible with two recorded prayers? Her mother’s heart was so huge for her son.  But it was even bigger for God.

So in celebration of mothers everywhere, I’m giving away 2 ebooks for Mother’s Day!  Just leave a comment answering who your favorite mother is.  I bet I already know most of the answers. But you can leave a tribute to her as well. Can’t wait to read your comments!

I’ll announce the winners on Monday. Have a fabulous Mother’s Day!!

PS: My personal favorite Mother’s Day story is at the end of “The Sensational Scent of Prayer.”  Hope you’ll read it!

My mom is 84 and is now in a high back geri chair in a nursing home. She still has a wonderful spirit inside of her ;. I am grateful to God l to still have her present as my mom.

  2. My mom is the best mom I know and I have no idea what I do without her love and support especially thru 18 yrs of living with chronic pain. She really is the best! I am so blessed!

  3. Amy White says:

My mother, Linda, has always been a pillar of strength. She birthed, raised, and buried my brother, Aaron, in a time when Mucopolysaccharidosis was a paragraph description in a medical textbook. She has continually shown me when you are plugged into the power source (prayer), you exhibit fruits such as love, patience, kindness, long-suffering, gentleness, self-control, and above all strength. I am grateful that she is my mom but mostly I am grateful that she cares enough about me and my family to walk this journey alongside of us. MPS is scary. MPS is sad. MPS is senseless. She has held my hand when I cried over the loss of my little boy’s future. She has held her sides when we are laughing at my little boy’s antics. She has prayed when I didn’t know how to respond to this horrible disease. God picked the right mother for me. Sent her through the fire so that she could be the mother she is today in order to walk this road with me.

I bet she’s the perfect one for you. 😉 Blessings Tracey!

  8. My mom is the best. I’m so thankful to still have her around. She birthed six children in eight years and managed to somehow maintain her sanity while raising us. I’ve written a special tribute to her at my blog for the 1000 Moms Project if anyone is interested. What I admire most about my mother, besides her perseverance is that she knows when to speak up as a mother and when to zip it. Something I need more schooling on. Praying all moms and moms-at-heart enjoy a blessed Mother’s Day!

    1. Rachel Wojnarowski says:

Wow! Six in 8 years! Hats off to your mama and blessings to you today!

  9. My mom, she passed away is 1983 but she was the best mom ever! She loved us kids unconditional even spoiled us when she was sick and going through chemo! She always put us first and I miss her a lot and think of her daily! No one can ever replace her And I strive to be a good wife and someone she would be proud of!

    1. Rachel Wojnarowski says:

      Bless you Lisa!
