Easter is such a wonderful time of celebration for all and children love the excitement of the season. My kids embrace spring and warm weather; then when Easter comes along, the Gospel story comes alive in a fresh way. I am so excited to give away a gorgeous copy of Tommy Nelson’s “My Easter Bible Storybook” as Easter approaches.

The characters in this beautiful book are cuter than buttons and the message inside is designed for ages 2-6. The story is adapted from the Children’s International Bible and gives little ones an opportunity to understand God’s Word. The book includes song lyrics, prayers, and Scripture, perfect for telling the Resurrection story.

My husband and I have a ton of fun with our kids over Easter; we participate in family or community egg hunts and each child has a special Easter basket. We enjoy dressing up on Easter Sunday in celebration of the resurrection. While we love to have fun, we believe this holiday is the perfect time to emphasize the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

I would LOVE to hear your ideas for balancing all the fun Easter traditions with knowing the true meaning of Easter- God’s love for us. So what do you do to celebrate Easter? Answer this question in a comment to be entered to win a copy of the book! Giveaway is open until Thursday, 3/15/12, 11 pm EST. Winner announced Friday morning right here.  For a bonus entry, share this post on Facebook or tweet about it, then come back and leave a comment saying so.  Happy winning!

  1. We spend the days before Easter watching the Easter story on DVD and playing with the resurrection eggs. We also go to an Easter egg hunt at church and have an Easter dinner.

  2. We are going to do an Easter egg hunt and then get up really early and go to the sunrise service. Afterwards we have a great big breakfast and spend time together with our family!

  4. We have an Easter egg hunt and tell the story of Easter.

  5. This is our first year as a family on Easter so we would love to start a tradition of really teaching her the meaning of Easter but also be able to enjoy the fun also. I think this book would give us a great start at helping her learn the true meaning of Easter!

  6. Posted link on my FB.

  7. One of the things we like to do is get our set of Resurrection Eggs out a week or two before Easter and go through them with our son.
