If you are a devotional lover, then you’ll love today’s giveaway! Ok, who I am kidding? If you aren’t a devotional lover, the two devotionals here will transform you into one. π
Today I have the privilege of giving away two of my VERY favorite devotionals from Thomas Nelson & Tommy Nelson. I’ve read through Jesus Calling three times and our kids have read through the Jesus Calling for Kids once, working on our second time. We truly love these devotionals and they are perfect to still your heart and mind before a busy day or at the end of a long one. Since the Read Your Bible through in a Year challenge is keeping me on track with Bible reading, a one page devotional is perfect. Sometimes I read it while I’m rocking my youngest for a few minutes before her nap.
Even my three year old often asks: “Are we going to read Jesus Calling, Mommy?” I love that she listens intently for the few minutes of reading. My older children take turns looking up the verses listed in the devotional on the ipod touch or in the Bible, whichever they choose.
And before I give you the giveaway details, I also need to tell you that I just discovered Sarah Young, the author of Jesus Calling, has a new devotional, Jesus Today- Experience Hope Through His Presence. I SOOO want this devotional! π If you’re like me and want it too, here’s the link to order it. π
Alright Friends! Have fun entering to win the devos and have a fabulous day!

Psst…Hey Rachel and ladies…for all who didn’t win and still want a copy, my local Costco had all three of Sarah Young’s books. I bought one for only $7.49 for a dear friend last Thursday before an appointment for a biopsy. She had discovered a lump in her breast and was experiencing horrible back pain of an unknown origin. She also lost her mom last year, and has been having marriage and financial difficulties for quite a while. Boy, did she need the encouragement the Lord provided in those pages!! She opened it in the car on the way to the hospital (she had to lay down in the back seat because she was in such severe pain and so sick when she sat up) and the”random” page she read spoke directly into her searching and weary heart! She told me later that she felt that God had directed Sarah to write those word just for her. The next day, she was told that she definately has Cancer. She will find out the extent tomorrow and what treatment protocols she will endure. π This book, and His Word and promises, continued to comfort her all this past weekend, and will undoubtably in the days to come. It has inspired her to pray more, talking to Him without ceasing, especially in those wee quiet hours of the morning, when she wakes up, and the fears and anxieties start to rise, when the enemy starts to whisper his lies, trying to get her to be angry at the Lord and blame Him for “causing” this to happen. Please pray for my friend Edna. Her husband is a truck driver, gone all week. She has an 18 year old daughter (named Rachel!) who is shouldering the burden of the household chores, and caring for her 16 year old severely autistic brother. PTL that Sarah’s trials inspired her to write these wonderful devotional thoughts! (sorry for such a loong post.)
what a wonderful testimony about the book! Thanks so much for sharing it and the scoop on the deal! π Blessings to you today.
