Jesus Calling Devotionals Review & GIVEAWAY

This week I’ve been taking an inventory of our family’s devotionals and thinking about what to do this year for individual quiet times. Once school begins, I will have 5 children in 4 different schools and 4 daily schedules. You can see why streamlining a quiet time routine for them is so important, right?
For the last 4 years, my favorite devotional both for myself and the children is Jesus Calling. There are so many reasons to love these devotionals, but today I’m going to briefly explain each book’s features so you know what you’re getting if you win! After Monday’s post about scheduling time with God and this giveaway, I know someone is going to be inspired to begin using this fabulous Jesus Calling Devotional set!
Book 1:
Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence
The devotions in Jesus Calling are simple, yet challenging. Each day’s read is a wonderful reminder of Jesus’ love and presence every day of the year. There have been so many times over the years when I read this devotional that I knew God was using it in my life. The Scriptures listed would often be just the ones I needed to focus on for that day. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve read through this devotional, but I think it’s been 5 times. Yes, it’s that good!
Book 2:

 ) I love that the hardback makes this book hold up in the busy lives and teens and young adults. Slipping it into a backpack is no problem or for car pools, you could leave it in a vehicle side door pocket.
Book 3:
Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions For Kids
Then we have the children’s devotional version of Jesus Calling! The devotional is designed for ages 7-12 and I feel confident that the book is age-appropriate. I will add that my children have enjoyed this devotional even at younger ages, as my youngest loves to listen to the older children read as well. One of the fun features of this book is that the devotional your child reads and the devotional you as the parent will read are the same material. So you can each read your own version and discuss your observations for that day.
Book 4:
The last book in today’s giveaway is Jesus Calling for Little Ones
. This book is designed especially for preschoolers and toddlers. The short devotions in this book reassure young children of Jesus’ love for them. I just love the sweet illustrations in this version!

My grandchildren would love to snuggle as I read them the devotional. (Granddaughter could probably read them to the others too.) The world is such a busy and demanding place. We all need to know and be reminded of Jesus’ love and presence.
I love love to have all of them but especially Jesus Calling for Little ones! I have 7 year old twins (a boy and a girl) and my daughter has started doing her own bible journaling and just made a new prayer journal this week.!
The Jesus Calling Little Ones would be so perfect for my seven-year-old granddaughter who just got saved during Vacation Bible School. She loves to read and this looks like a book that she would be interested in reading.
It is my greatest desire to see my two little girls come to know Christ. I pray every day that they will see Jesus through my actions and I can be an example to them. I know that I need to be in the word daily and allow God to speak to me through prayer and even books like Jesus calling. I love that there is also a book geared towards children and feel that it could have a great impact on them growing up. I cherish times where we lay in bed in the evenings and read gods promises together.

I started reading the “Jesus calling” again after my dad said he received a copy from my niece . He absolutely loves it! Enjoying Peace in his Presence- I am trying to discipline myself to devote my first part of my morning to Gods word instead of the news and all of the hate and violence. Give God my best.
I’ve just started reading Jesus is Calling which was given to me by a friend. It’s message reminded me today that Christ lives in me and it made me feel comforted knowing he is with me at all times – guiding and encouraging me. I would like these devotionals so that I could give them to others – pay it forward so to speak, since it was so freely given to me.
I loved Jesus Calling (original one) so much I HAD to pass it on to a friend. I would love to read through it again!

Enjoying Peace in his presence is a book for me. I struggle everyday with pain and there are days that I Forget I am a child of God and wallow in self pity. After 6 surgeries on my back and one on the neck I still struggle. 2011 they disabled me and I lost my job and being a work-a-holic put me in a downwards spiral. Thank God I have my faith, but some days are hard. I think this book would help me.
I have three amazing children and I also teach Sunday school to children at my local church. I live in England and I don’t own any of the books and I would really love to own all four. For myself, my children and the children I teach. I have enjoyed the online devotionals and it would be really nice to own a hard copy of this books to share with others.

I would like to give the teen devotional to my 14 year old son. He is entering High school in a few weeks and I know he will have trials bigger than he has ever known. I want him to always be reminded of God’s love and faithfulness.

The first book seems appealing. Because it’s like a motivational quote for you to read everyday so you could survive your day.
I’m thinking of keeping the book for myself because I also need it. But if I were to give the book as a gift, it would to my mother. Because she’s been the pillar of our home when my father was having a hard time dealing with his problem. Mom became his pillar.

I would dearly love to be able to win this Jesus calling as my little boy and me are survivors of domestic violence within my Christian marriage of only 9 months (honeymoon baby) and I bought the Jesus calling bible for when my son was a baby and it’s helped him with his faith and he lives Jesus sooooo much! I feel that the others will help him further and myself too, I would share these within my small group of domestic Violence girls whom I’m trying to help to with Gods grace. What the enemy meant for harm, God causes good out of it !!

All of the books would be amazing to give as a gift to people I hold close to my heart. I haven’t read any of them but I love daily devotionals and feel inspired by the ones I do have.

I continue to model the peace that comes with spending quiet time with God- and my prayer is that she begins to truly feel that peace, too.
I would love to give my youngest grandson JESUS CALLING for LITTLE ONES. He goes through a cycle of nightmares and I suggested to my daughter to read him bible stories before bedtime, this would be the perfect book to fill that.

I would love ALL of these devotions. I am renewing my walk in Christ and I am a mom of three (ages 6, 5, and 3). Sometimes we get so consuned in the day to day activites, it would be special to take time out as a family to discern what God wants us to learn each day. I want to teach them and nurture them as they began their journey in God’s love. These books will grow with them as they grow. The best part is that we can grow together!!
I believe Jesus Calling: Teen Edition could help my 14 yr old daughter. She is a very beautiful, smart and outgoing person but she’s very troubled. She wants to do good and she tries but it’s like she gets lost & I feel like the teen edition could give her the inspiration to try harder.

I can’t just pick one because my whole family could benefit from these books. With 5 kids; 2 months, 2, 5, 10, 15 these devotionals cover them all including me! It’s been a tough year and these would be a welcome respite into the love of God.
I think Book 2 would be my favorite because my son is making his Confirmation this coming spring and my daughter follows in 2 years.

I desperately need to find peace in His presence as I am going through my second divorce. A marriage that could have been so great had we not rushed due to my trying to feel better after my marriage of 16 years ended in domestic violence; a one time act with a lifetime of consequences.
If I have to pick one, it would be Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids. I like that it corresponds to the adult version and would therefore help initiate conversations about Jesus between ne, my husband and our young boys.
So the one that appeals to me the most is Jesus Calling For The Little Ones. The reason why is because I’ve been trying to figure out how do a devotional that is age appropriate for my one year old daughter, Ivy. So this book seems like it would be perfect for that! 🙂

The one I would like to give to someone however would be the one for kids. I have looked at the Jesus Calling devotional many times and wished I could purchase it. I have three daughters and I would love to have the teen devotional for my 15 year old and the kids devotional for my 8 year old twins. They love reading the Bible and I think that they would get a lot out of the devotional.

That Jesus is calling them every single day simply because He loves them. It’s hard to find good quality devotional a to share with young children that are designed to attract their attention and aren’t so long that they miss the point because they can’t focus. Thank you!

I have never had an opportunity to get acquainted with these journals. As I go to work and my kids leave for school, this would be an excellent way we could center our family. I would love the 365 Day journal for my children and the adult version for me.
I absolutely love Jesus Calling the first book. My friend used to post it our ladies group and I always found it encouraging and it always reminded of Jesus’s loving nature. I would love a copy of my own. I also would love to bless young ladies in my church with the teen and toddler versions. I’m loving that is a Jesus calling series!
I love all of this series. I have not seen the Jesus Calling for Little Ones, but I have read the kids and teen versions.
I have not read any of these devotionals, but the one that catches my eye is the first one. I know there is peace in His presence. I just have to push myself. I have to put everything else on hold and know that God is calling me to be in His presence. He longs to spend time with me and wants me to have His peace. I am still learning about this walk and striving to draw nigh to Him. I could truly use the extra help.

Jesus Calling for Little Ones because it’s hard to find a good devotional for my young children.
I am interested in book #1 for myself because I am looking for more direction in my personal faith. I’ve lost my dad in April, I’m a nurse and I haven’t worked in 6 months due to a medical injury. I have my first grandchild due in November. So in the future I see all these books serving my family.

Rachel, I love Jesus Calling, In His Presence. I also have been reading my God Calling devotional by A J Russell for over 20 years. Both of these devotionals are my most gifted treasures. I tend to always have an extra copy to give to someone who needs Jesus as the Lord places them before me. With a beautiful youngest 1 year old granddaughter named Grace, I would love to share the Jesus Calling for little ones with her. My daughter and I love to read to all three grandchildren and I know she would love this for daily prayer time. My grandson Andrew is doing well. My Granddaughter was saved last night at Bible School. What better way than these books to start her on her walk with Jesus. She has been studying her Bible for several months now. Even making copy’s of your monthly devotions after she saw me reading them. Sometime a book will help also. These books we could read and then talk about. Thanks.

Jesus Is Calling: 365 Day Devotional
I have my 7 year old daughter whose name is Trinity & I know she will enjoy reading this here book every morning Be she goes off to school. She’s loves The Father, Son, & The Holy Spirit and I desire for God to fill her lil body with the gift(s) He has for my baby girl she is a God-fearing child & obedient not only to myself her mother but she’s definitely obedient to her father (earthly) but most of all she’s obedient to her Heavenly Father. If this book is for my daughter then God will see that Trinity receives this book in Jesus name Amen
They all sound great but the kids one is definitely on my list. I’ve been looking for a good devotional to start soon with my toddler.
I am so excited about all of the books, but mostly for Jesus Calling Little ones. I am homeschooling our 4 year old right now and he is so on fire about learning about God and doing studies “like mommy” does and what better way than this book to go with his bible.

I have used the Jesus Calling for kids in our homeschool. It’s a great way to start the day. I would definitely give the teen edition to my niece, she is visiting with us for the summer, she is 13 and we will miss her so much when she goes back to PA. I find the simple format of Jesus Calling as if God is speaking directly to me (many times). My guardian had a copy last year he’d read w/ me everyday then have me write it in my words, then we talk about my understanding or not understanding. I miss it. & would feel very blessed to have a copy of my own to study everyday. if it’s God’s will.

I would like to receive Enjoying Peace In His Presence. There has been a lot going on in my life. To spend time and to experience God’s presence will bring peace and whatever is needed. This book will will help me to set aside time to experience God’s presence.
I love my special edition pink. Of course, I got my daughters the devotions for kids. I plan on gifting my family with this extraordinary blessing.
I would love to give the devotional for kids to my son, for us to read together. He’s a sponge right now, and seems to really be understanding the things of the Lord that he’s being taught, in ways that constantly surprise me. This would be great to further that and encourage him.

If I could receive one of these books, I would want the “Jesus calling devotion for kids.” I have a young friend who is my friends granddaughter and she is going through rough times because of her mom. She is very smart for her age of 12, but has gone through more in her short life than any adult I know. She believes in the Lord and has even taught Sunday school with her Grama. I think it would be a great comfort to her. She is entering those pesky teen years and needs all the help she can to stay the course for God and not give up.

I’d love to share these with my sister. She has just recently coming around to the idea of a relationship with God. She has a 3 year old and almost 1 year old. So it would be awesome for her to grow her faith and be an example to her Babies and they could enjoy the smaller books along with her. And if the teenage one is like the adult with a different cover I could read along with her and we could discuss it and hopefully she can become comfortable to build her faith In God.

I have two children one is 3 years old and the other is 7 years old so I would love to try the one out for kids because I do not have them. I would personally like the adult Jesus is calling for me, but I have friends that can use the others for their teens, Children and the littler ones. I so wish I grew up with someone reading me a devotional about Jesus when I was little.

The book Jesus Calling for Little Ones, I would absolutely love if I could give it to my 6 year old son. He loves church and Sunday school. I have Book 3, and when school was still in session we would read a devotional every morning before school and talk about what it meant to each of us. I love the way this book breaks it all down to the point where I’m amazed. I would love to give one of these books to my brother. He is an alcoholic and drug addict but knows of the Lord. I got him some devotional books for Christmas and he loved them. I just want him to get better and I know that bashing or blaming him will not change him, but I can pray and believe God for healing and restoration and I can give him resources that are tangible. I would be blessed to win the first book! I’ve always seen this devotional book and have heard great things about it, but I’ve never pushed myself to get it. I know the importance of being in God’s presence everyday, but some days make it almost impossible! The first book appeals to me because I like my to spend more time in Jesus’s presence and to live His peace. I’m going through a transition at the moment of physical healing from a debilitating condition and I need more patience with myself and my body. I know Jesus can bring me that peace. A lot of things are changing and I need to center on Jesus.

I have Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence. There are 2 that have drawn my attention: For Kids & For Little Ones which would be given to my 2 grandchildren. We have a young teen in our church who ministers on the praise team that I would give the teen book to. Through my ministry, I would give the Adult Version away. So all 4 books would go to other people rather than myself.
I am very interested in Books 3 and 4 for my own children. I have a 4 year old and 9 year old who I am desperate to teach about spending time with God and bringing scripture into their life. I own book #1 and, although I am not consistent with reading on a daily basis, when I do read it’s amazing how the day I choose to open it, it speaks volumes and is always exactly what I needed to read.

I work with kids at an Awana program and my favorite choice would be the kid’s version, or even the teen version. I believe we can’t have enough information and ideas to pass on to kids, especially in this Satan-saturated society.

My husband and I are student pastors. Book 2 interests me the most since its targeted audience is youth/students. We are always looking for resources to help our students establish daily, consistent quiet time with God. Having a copy of this version would allow us to check out the devotional first before having our church purchase copies for all our students. This devotional set would be perfect for me and my family! Although I have no kids of my own yet, I have a few nephews and nieces I would love to share them with! My niece is turning 8 in August and the kids version would fit her perfect! My youngest nephew is 6 and the “Little Ones” would be a great addition to his morning routine with his mama. My oldest nephew is 13 and I believe the second book would be a great way for him to get in touch with God in the midst of the confusing and seemingly chaotic time that is the teenage years. I pray for God to fill him with peace and guidance through this next chapter in his life and I believe this version could be a great tool for him.

I would love these, first, I would give the adult book to my grandfather. He will be 96 next month and loves to read, he reads his Bible daily, religiously, and reads usually one other book until finished as well. I buy him books as often as I can. I would give the book for kids to my granddaughter, she is 7 and loves the bible I gave her and this would make a nice companion book to go along with that. The teen one I would use for myself, until my granddaughter became old enough then I would give it to her. The last one I would hold onto until my next grandbaby comes along. These books would be a great blessing to my family in so many ways.

I have contemplated purchasing Book 3 for some time now, as a few of my kids are outgrowing their preschooler devotional and ready for one geared towards elementary-aged kids. Though I feel I know someone to gift each of these books, I’m most excited this particular one.

I have Jesus Calling, and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a gift from a dear Christian “older woman” when I was experiencing a devastating loss of having to leave my beloved nursing school program (as a 50 yr old adult student)when my final semester grade was 7/10ths of a percent below their required semester grade. I cried for over two years, and even now, 10 years later. Jesus Calling seems to always meet me, right where I am. My granddaughter is almost seven years old, attends a Christian school and is an avid reader. She loves Jesus with all her heart, and I know she would enjoy the 7-12 year old edition, and most likely, she would enjoy reading the toddler version to her younger brother Ben, 16 months. This Gramma reads with both kids all the time.

Book 1 or 2 because I want it for me. However 3 and 4 are great for my kids that are 4 and 13 years old. We love our devotional time every night. I want to train up my children in the way they should go: and when they are old, they will not depart from it. Blessings!

I gave my father Jesus Calling when he became a deacon because it is one they were using in his church. He speaks very highly of it. I have considered getting one for myself. I have a family that is very near and dear to me that would love the one for kids, they have two young girls whom I watch regularly and they are on fire for God. I love spending time each day with God. I read daily along with your bible reading challenge and it speaks to my heart. I have gone through a pretty tough year and getting daily reminders of Gods love helps get me through. Book 1 sounds like it would help with this.

I would love to give Jesus Calling to a great sister in Christ from my church (Cowboy Church) that has been my shoulder this last year. She has been there for me while I was going through my mom’s bladder cancer and through all my mom’s surgery’s and when I didn’t know if my mom was going to make it out of the hospital. She has been here for me while I deal with my own health problems (severe RA and migraines). She sends me cards once a week and text me all the time. She has been my angel though all of this.

I have read through the Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence book previously and keep it on my desk at work for when I need a quick word with God. As a social worker in the foster care system, I am always working with children and families who so deeply need the word of God in an understandable way. I actually have not read any of these books. Book 3, the devotional for older kids (7-12) would be a great gift for my 9 year old son. He struggles with self-esteem issues and we talk about how much God loves him all of the time. I think a book on “his level” would be beneficial to him so that the word could really sink in …other than just me telling him. 🙂

I have the Jesus Calling Devotional Journal and I love it! I would like to have the teen version for my 16 year old daughter. She has grown tremendously in her faith thus summer and has decided to attend Liberty University after high school. She has also made the decision to be bold in her faith at school which she is certain will bring her ridicule from classmates. This devotional would give her strength just has it has me. I wasn’t aware of the teen and children’s versions of this great devotional!

I am an education student and future teacher/ working substitute for middle school aged student at a private christian school, and one thing I would enjoy incorporating before my daily class begins is a short devotional where I can have a student practice reading out loud and then have the class discuss their thoughts openly. The Jesus calling with the teenage hardback cover would be a great look for middle schoolers and could keep them entertained by the look of the cover but they really get to dive into the look of God’s word before my begin our daily lesson.
Jesus Calling is just an amazing devotional and I find it a blessing because thought it is dated and prewritten each days devotional hits you were you are. I think it would be awesome to have the ones for kids because I have teenagers down to toddlers, and I know how much it hits me.

The answer is my sweet, sweet sister. We were both raised in a Christian home with loving parents. Somewhere along the way, she’s gotten a little lost. My heart breaks for her, because I know she isn’t happy or in a healthy relationship. She has a great career, her own home, and she’s beautiful. But I know she’s struggling in her own Christian walk, and it’s causing turmoil in most areas of her life. We’re covering her in prayer, and I know “Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence” would be so beneficial to her. I’ve been spending time with her studying the Word, but she’s so off track. Literally breaks my heart. I love my Jesus Calling Devotional, and I do it over and over again. I know this would be a huge blessing for our entire family!

Three of the books actually appeal to me. Quiet time with Jesus is something my family has struggled with lately. I have a 5 year old, a 3 year old and a 6 month baby boy. My husband and I both work at schools as athletic directors which calls for a constantly changing schedule. We are mandating that quiet intentional time alone with Jesus be a must as we enter into a new school year. I teach at a Classical Christian school and this will be my first year in the classroom (as I previously just ran the athletic dept) and I would love to use the book geared towards teens in my classroom. The book geared towards adults and small children would be greatly beneficial in trying to increase excitement and resources to make our time alone with Jesus not only a priority, but meaningful and intentional.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Jesus Calling, which was given to me by a close friend, who loved hers so much that she bought me one! However, I think the Jesus Calling for Kids would be a good one to give my teenage son! My daughter received one for a graduation gift a couple years ago, and I know she’s enjoying it!

Our granddaughter is not being raised in a Christian home. Sadly our daughter has abandoned the church – at least for now. We continue to pray for them both! I would love to give a devotional to our soon-to-be 11 year old precious granddaughter, to help her learn Christian concepts and know that God is with her each day.
My kids are 15, 7 and 3 so my family could really use this bundle. We love Sarah Young. I already have the pink Women’s Edition and I L♡VE IT!!!
Book 1 has been the devtional of a family from back home who is going through a very trying time. I follow them on Facebook and she posts words and encouragment from book 1 that has help lift her and her family up during this time in their life! The book has been an amazing tool for them!
I would love to have the books for myself and my daughter’s we are just getting into with the Lord.
I am especially interested in the the two devotionals for kids. I have a 4 year old and a 7 year old. We try to make prayer a part of our everyday lives but I could certainly use more help! 🙂 I have a good friend, Karin, who would love book 1! She has always been a faithful friend, pointing me back to Christ through all the trials I have faced in the last decade. I have book 1 and absolutely love it. I read my devotions at bed time each night. I know I should start my day with it but I haven’t been able to get that to work. The mornings are always so chaotic. My favorite part of this book is how the devotion and the corresponding verses always seem to be exactly what I need to hear to give me hope in a broken world. Can you imagine sitting on an operating table about to have brain surgery and being completely at peace?? Well that was me in January! This book is such a blessing to everyone who comes into contact with it! Thank you for giving it away!
I would love to give Book 1, Jesus Calling: Enjoying Peace in His Presence, to my Mom. She is in a nursing home and does not get around very much these days. I know she would really enjoy the book. She likes for me to read devotional to her when I visit.

I have one of the different versions of Jesus Calling, I like how there is something for each day! When you are having a ruff day, it is usually what you need to hear. God is Awesome like that!

Book 2 appeals to me, because I find myself constantly making excuses about not doing a devotional, or spending time with God. This book would make me as a teenager, so much easier to read this on the way to Work, and School! It would also be a great opportunity to spread the gospel using this everywhere! Jesus Calling is my favorite daily devotional thus far. It always speaks to me in my daily situations with life. I would so love this set as I have a girlfriend who is searching for a relationship with God right now. I would love to give her Jesus Calling and Jesus Calling for little one’s to her. It would be such a blessing to her. I have a pre teen who I would love to give the Jesus Calling for Teens too as it would help him in his zest for a deeper relationship with God and then we could pass it on to my girlfriends daughter when the time is right. I love this devotional! Like you, I have read this several times, and feel like she is speaking directly to me at each time I open the devotional. I have one for myself and I have purchased several to give away to friends. When reading this post I knew exactly who came to mind for each devotional. I am most interested in the devotional for toddlers. I have an almost 2 year old at home and we are getting into the stage of routines and teaching him how to read the Bible (kid friendly, of course).
I have the first Jesus Calling devotional and LOVE it! I have people in my life that would benefit from any of the books. I have a niece who has a 5 year old and a new baby. Her mother-in-law (my sister) passed away last summer. I have been trying to sow into her and her kids lives. I would love to give them the Jesus Calling for Little Ones. Thanks so much!
I would love the book for kids. My 7 year old grandson lives with us and likes to do bible study with grandma. And I already have Jesus calmly for adults.

The Jesus Calling for little one appeals to me the most. My son, Logan, is 5 years old and loves doing devotionals before bed. He is almost finished with his Gotta Have God devotional and this would be perfect to start next!

I have not enjoyed Jesus Calling (adult version) and believe this would be an incredible daily devotional. There are several that are part if my daily quiet time; have read them numerous times. A new addition would be so welcome! ?

Have previously read a different Jesus Calling and was amazed how it touched my life. I would definitely enjoy the adult version; however, I know the others could be used in our devotional studies at church. Would be a great opportunity to reach out to the teens and younger children to encourage and enrich their lives. All books would be astounding I’m sure.
I would give my daughter the Jesus Calling for little ones. Although she was raised knowing the Lord, she has stepped away because of worldviews. I just want to make sure that my grandchildren get all the information they can so that they too can make the decision to know my Lord & Savior. And my daughter loves when I give the children books.
I would love to win these!! I have 4 children ages 21-3. They have seen me get closer to God through my Bible Journaling! The youngest and I “journal” together a lot…he draws squiggles and shapes, but to him, he is journaling just like me ?. These would be awesome to give to my little blessings to draw them closer to God!!

I have never actually used Jesus Calling as a devotional. I know it’s been around for quite awhile, but I’ve just never used it. I think I would be most excited about it because it looks simple but classic. Nothing that takes an incredibly long amount of time but something that is certainly heart warming and critical to begin each day.
