    Another question….

Why does King Cyrus in Ezra allow the exiled Jews to rebuild? None of the other kings (thus far) have permitted them or wanted them to continue. So, why did King Cyrus allow them?

    Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

Another great question! Ezra 1:1 says: In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and to put it in writing… Don’t you just love it. No reason except God moved in his heart. You can also see this answer in II Chronciles 26:22 & 23: In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and to put it in writing:This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: “‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. Anyone of his people among you–may the LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.'”

Thank you! I had read that, but when there was all this emphasis on other kings who were against it, I was afraid I had misunderstood! That is amazing–just moved by the Lord!

As always, thanks so much! ๐Ÿ™‚

Kristi the only explanation I can find is that the Lord inspired King Cyrus to issue the proclamation.
I was wondering the same thing!
