I have been following along and am enjoying it. I have a question ~ I have never followed in this format. I just usually go in order. Why are we reading from 4 different books each day? I feel like I’m following 4 different stories. Just curious …….. Thank you.
Hey Karen! Glad to have you! Essentially, this plan is a “themed” plan. Not every person will catch a “theme” in the four readings. For example, the first day’s reading was the beginning of the earth, the beginning of the rebuilding of the temple, the beginning of Christ’s time on earth and the beginning of the church age. Here is a link with many Bible reading plans and the purposes behind their arrangement. Just in case you’d like to choose from a different plan… http://thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/justintaylor/2011/12/27/bible-reading-plans-for-2012/ So glad to have you reading along with us!

Hi Rachel,
I want to thank you for providing this particular reading plan……..I looked over some of the plans on the link you provided and felt even more blessed and thankful for your plan. I love the format because it challenges me to remember the previous chapter from the day before…… sometimes I have to briefly brush up on it before reading the current chapter, which helps me absorb and remember better.
I have wanted to read through the Bible for such a long time, and it’s rewarding to know that others are reading right along with me. So far, I have discovered God’s ultimate patience and love for HIS people…….giving them ample time and opportunity to obey HIM……but most of the time, they chose to disobey HIM, over and over again. Exactly what we see playing out in our culture today……..a nation that is in deep and abiding trouble because we have turned our back to our Sovereign One and Only Lord. May HE have mercy on our nation.
Thank you once again for your inspiration, Rachel!
