when God writes your story

Life takes so many twists and turns, doesn’t it? Things don’t always happenĀ as we plan or dream or wish. When you’re in the middle of your story being turned upside down and rewritten? So difficult.

Today I wanted to encourage you through this poem my husband wrote for me. I know you can relate. When God writes yourĀ story, every plot is purposeful. The adventure he pensĀ for you is still being unfolded; trust him.

The Author

With the stroke of His pen, the Author began
Another child born on a warm Spring day
The story of his life from boy to man
Soon would unfold in a preordained way

Some years later on a bright Summer morn
The Author continued, a new chapter to start
A sweet little girl into this world was born
Each word penned, her life would impart

The story of the man then altered course
He grabbed up the pen and wrote his own plot
With a twist of fate it brought much remorse
While the Author paused and a lesson was taught

Her story, too, followed another way
Sacred dreams vanished before her eyes
A wandering spouse would be lead astray
To the grieving Author it was no surprise

The Author then turned His page with a smile
A second chance given to run the race
Their souls refined by test and trial
Now joined together with a stroke of grace

What seemed at first an act of chance
The Author knew before time had begun
A perfect love and eternal romance
Two different stories now written as one

Each page, now turned, opens a new door
Their lives are blessed with word and song
For only the Author knows what’s in store
A miraculous love story will continue lifelong

So beautiful! With the unfolding of the story, it’s really all grace, God’s Grace. We don’t see it at the time, or the season, but the footprints all lead to Grace. Thank you for letting us see the poem too. I like your book you wrote, very pertinent for the time and season we are in now. Blessings, Joanne
