I’ve had some “aha” moments this month as I’ve traversed the True Love Bible reading plan. One of them is that folks often need so much love that they don’t even recognize how much they need it. Another has been that I don’t tell God nearly often enough how much I love him. And still another has been that I can talk all day about how much I love God and others, but if I don’t live it? It profits nothing. So I’m learning to live loved and learning to love others. Loving is a learning process. So different than the world views love, isn’t it? Let’s check out the True Love Bible reading summary week 3. Ready?
I wonder if love came first on the list of the fruits of the Spirit because everything else would follow naturally afterward? Hope your Saturday is saturated in the love of Christ. #biblereadingplan#biblereading #truelovejournal
1 Peter 4:1-8
When your friend says a few things she may not have thought through? Love her anyway. When your son doesn’t answer? Love him anyway. When your spouse forgets an important date? Love him/her anyway. When your co-worker unjustly criticizes your work? Love her anyway. When your pastor makes a mistake? Love him anyway. Choosing to love people in spite of their faults and failures is what cures relationships instead of killing them. Focusing on four words today: Love God. Love others. Have a super Sunday! #truelovejournal #biblereading#biblereadingplan
I Peter 3:8-12
The world is experiencing a severe shortage of sympathy. Jesus, break our hearts for what breaks yours. May Christian hearts unify in communities across this nation, showing tender hearts of love to one another and the world. Have a marvelous Monday! #truelovejournal#biblereadingplan #biblereading
“Speaking the truth in love.” Sounds simple enough but with blurred lines in every facet of society, it seems that right and wrong requires more wisdom than ever. The perfect pairing, truth and love. Without each other, the other has the potential to fall flat. May our words be completely upright and fully loving on this terrific Tuesday. I admit I struggled yesterday; glad for a new morning with new mercies! #truelovejournal #biblereading#biblereadingplan
Whenever I notice a pattern to the spiritual messages I’m reading and receiving, then I know it’s time to pay attention. Just last night before bed, I was reading the Jesus-Hearted Woman and most of the chapter discussed humility. Love is a heart of service. To continue serving with a pure heart is the ultimate display of love. I certainly have some meditating over this passage to do today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! #biblereadingplan #biblereading#truelovejournal
Above all else. For perfect harmony. Family life doesn’t always seem loving. And it sure isn’t harmonious 24/7. Living out love to those who know us best is tricky. But oh the reward!! Jesus, may we make choices of love and not hate today. May we choose compassion over complaining, meekness over murmuring, humility over hardness, harmony over hatred, patience over pride. Above all, may we choose love. Thank you for loving us just as we are. #truelovejournal#biblereading #biblereadingplan
Manifest is such a beautiful word. Jesus promises he will make himself real and present in our everyday lives. What a promise! I can’t wait to see Jesus today. How will he make himself known to you? Will you be so busy that you miss him? Hope your Friday is filled with moments of recognizing his love! #biblereading#biblereadingplan #truelovejournal
It’s true. We all recognize it when we’re reminded. But the truth I think we often miss when we read this passage is that there are all different ways of laying your life down. Our minds go to an immediate substitution of life-giving circumstances. But today I’m thinking about the everyday laying down of my life to others. Making God and others first; self last. Being selfless by pouring into the life of those God places in my path. Laying my life down one decision at a time. One hour at a time. One day at a time. Choosing to live a life of love. I wish you a Happy Selfless Saturday. #truelovejournal #biblereading#biblereadingplan
So when I’m caught up in the emotion of love and how I think it should be, perhaps it would be better to remember what love does. Love lives well. #biblereading #biblereadingplan#truelovejournal PS: I preordered Maria Goff’s new release, Love Lives Here. I can’t wait to read it! Arrives Tuesday.
Well, Friends, this month has gone by quickly. Tomorrow I’ll drop back by this post and add in the final few days. Don’t forget that we begin the Perfect Peace Bible reading plan on Wednesday, March 1st! and remember Jesus loves you!
By his grace,
FINAL DAYS OF TRUE LOVE SUMMARY
I John 3:1-5
See what kind of love the Father has lavished on us. A kind of love that we can’t wrap our heads around. A love that never fails. Never gives up on us. Never ends. Never dies. Never fades. Never grows weary. His love extends beyond our comprehension. With that kind of thought fuel for Monday, who can’t wait to know where his love will lead today? Happy Monday! #biblereading#biblereadingplan #truelovejournal
1 Corinthians 13:1-7
We’re concluding a month of #truelovejournal #biblereading with the “love” chapter. And this morning my heart is resonating with “does not insist on its own way.” I tell God I love him but well, I do find myself insisting on my own way quite often. Maybe you too? Jesus, may our love reflect full surrender to your will today. When it includes disease, heartache, suffering, and more, may we wave the white flag to your Almighty hand, resting in the power of your never-ending love. Amen. Hope your Tuesday is terrific! #biblereadingplan
