Welcome to the Light Bible Reading Challenge Final Summary! The month of December surely seemed to fly by for me; how about for you? I truly enjoyed the daily Bible reading plan and wanted to say thank you to so many of you who are reading along! Let’s take a look at the final summary of what we read before we get too far into the month of January and the new monthly Bible reading plan.

This month the final summary is twice as long since I didn’t post on Christmas day last week. Ready?

Isaiah 42:10-17

Has the path of your life been altered by circumstances you did not choose? He's there. Has the road itched with roughness and sharp edges? He's there. Have you wished you could know where you are headed on the other side of this present thick fog? He's there. And although you do not know the future, he knows every step and shines the way with his mercy and grace.

Isaiah 9:1-7

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.... For unto us a child is born. #thelight

The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness,
on them has light shone…. For unto us a child is born.

A light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness. #thelight

A light has dawned on those living in the land of darkness.

Isaiah 60:1-11

He came! We celebrate for this reason. We celebrate for the Light came into the world as a baby, trekked the earthly journey as a human, yet defeated the grave as God Almighty. Arise. Shine. For Your Light has come!!!

Isaiah 60:12-22

vs. 19 & 20

The sun shall be no more
your light by day,
nor for brightness shall the moon
give you light;but the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.

Your sun shall no more go down,
nor your moon withdraw itself;
for the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your days of mourning shall be ended.

Matthew 4:10-17

Since the separation of fellowship in the garden of Eden, darkness had covered the earth. Relationship between God and man was waiting for the moment of grace- God's gift. And so no matter how dark your days, literally or figuratively, the Light has come. Rejoice!!#thelight #biblereading

Jeremiah 31:33-37

The words “fixed order” arrested me in this passage.

Thus says the LORD,
who gives the sun for light by day
and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night,

If our God controls the order of the moon and stars… and we truly believe that he does, then how can we question the order of events he places in our lives? I pondered that for quite awhile.

Daniel 2:19-23

Every 40 years, a full moon shines on Christmas night and tonight we have the privilege of seeing God's unique sky displayed. But every day, the Light of the world shines in our lives. There is no dark too dark for his light to break through. Remember that as you gaze on the full moon tonight, just as Daniel did in today's#thelight #biblereading . Blessed be his name this Christmas Day!

Matthew 5:11-16

No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket... Let your light shine. #thelight

Matthew 6:19-24

With the new year approaching, it's a great time to take today's #thelight#biblereading passage and ponder... Are my eyes focused on the intake of light or do I have reason to filter out some things that aren't light-provoking?

Luke 8:11-18

No one, after lighting a lamp, covers it with a basket or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lamp stand so that those who come in may see its light.

Psalm 43:1-5

Verse 3 of this passage points to the fact that the light leads and directs us.

Send out your light and your truth;
let them lead me;
let them bring me to your holy hill
and to your dwelling!

I John 2:7-11

Light and darkness. Love and hate. Deeply contrasted yet somehow, we manage to blur the lines. Meditating on this today.

light final 7

The world seems to be covered in darkness at first glance. But the true light is already shining. The one who loves his brother remains in the light. And so this is how the darkness is defeated. Love conquers all.

By his grace,

Rachel
