Some time ago, I introduced to you, my father-in-law, Dr. Marion Wojnarowski, who is 74 years old and has been serving the Lord in ministry for over 48 years. His many areas of service have included pastoring, evangelism, teaching, mission work, and in recent years,he has served as the chaplain for a retirement center. While serving in these capacities, many a sermon and newsletter article has been pounded out on my Dad-in-love’s old typewriter.  Since I am unable to convince him to begin blogging on his own, I really wanted to honor his love legacy to the Lord. Enjoy his message and have a beautiful Sunday!

Today Is the First Day of the Rest of Our Lives

Too many TODAYS are wasted on the good intentions and wishes for our expected TOMORROWS! As Christians, we should be thinking about what we can contribute to the service of our Lord for the 24 hours lived in THIS DAY!

Instead, we dwell many times on the failures of the past yesterdays, souring the opportunities of living a productive day for the Lord!

In Psalm 118: 24…“This is the DAY which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Where are today’s Christian in real active service to be found? The Psalmist writes in Psalm 145:2, “Every DAY will I bless you; and I will praise Your Name for ever and ever.”

It’s sad when some seniors tell me they want to die and not live another day. Life is so precious; ask those in the hospitals who are struggling for the next breath, on life support systems in the intensive care units. In spite of pain, sickness, loneliness, or depression, we should try to live life to its fullest because it is a gift from God!

He shall call on ME and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With LONG LIFE will I satisfy him, and show him MY salvation.” Psalm 91:15-16

On the other hand, Solomon tells us in Proverbs 17:1: “Boast not of tomorrow; for you do not know what a DAY may bring.”

So we have TODAY!

Let’s utilize it for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave it to us. Paul tells us in Gal. 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.”

This is the unavoidable reason we should cherish our lives here on earth! The omnipresent Christ is with us daily, leading and guiding our lives through His Holy Spirit!

Brooding in yesterday’s failures does not bring the blessings of today’s fruit, leaving us a blighted and bleak outlook on tomorrow’s faith!

A Good Example: An ATM machine is actively available for business 24 hours, around the clock; to disperse needed cash and the payment of bills due.

Where are the ATM believers of today?

A: Active

T: Today

M: Ministering for the Master (dispersing Christian compassion)

Live your day, someday it will pay. Never take a vacation from Jesus.

Chaplain, Dr. Marion Wojnarowski

  1. Perfect thoughts for how we should be a 24/7 Christian. I especially loved the acronym for the ATM believer. My prayer is that I can live this out daily. Please thank your father-in-law for his teaching today!

  2. Rachel, my prayers for the Chaplain…I will reread this post as I wake to my Sunday and I will remember that “THIS is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!” God bless!
