bible reading challenge  Alright Bible Challenge Readers. I’m beginning the day with another apology- I am so sorry! Worst leader ever. The last two days I have labeled the day incorrectly- I’ve been travelling and not on my usual routine at all. So I goofed up yesterday and the day before, we are actually on day 122, not 132 today. I’ll repair the last two days of graphics a bit later today when I can catch up and I hope you understand the craziness. On a much better note:

Today I’m privileged to bring to you a review and giveaway for another wonderful movie by Provident Films, Ring the Bell. From Facing the Giants to Courageous, I’ve watched almost all the Provident Film productions and what a joy it has been to see the growth and development of this ministry. This particular movie intrigued me because Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, and Matthew West are all part of the drama team. It was fun to watch their musical talents transferred to a different outlet.

The story line of Ring the Bell pulls you in from the beginning with the fast-paced agent, Rob Decker, on a mission to sign the latest high school baseball phenomena. But the small town he visits in order to make the deal holds something higher than the almighty dollar- following through with God’s plan for your life is lived out through the people. And Rob is suddenly aware that his lifestyle doesn’t make him happy. He discovers his deep need to “ring the bell.”

I don’t want to give any more of the story away, but I have to tell you that while Matt and I watched this for date night, this movie is one that I’m excited to share with the kids.  The back story of how the film was produced is one you don’t want to miss and the performance of Casting Crowns is stellar. This movie is not an action-packed, special effects kind of film like Courageous, but I believe that my children can still connect easily due to the baseball theme and the variety of characters. I personally enjoyed it very much.

I give Ring the Bell a 4.5 out of 5 stars. 😉

I’d love to give away one copy of this DVD so your family can enjoy a movie night or you can have a date night with your hubby. So be sure to enter the Rafflecopter and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Oh, and if you’d like to order because you’re impatient like I am at times,AND it’s only $12.99, then here’s your link: Ring the Bell

Have a thriving Thursday!

Courageous is my favorite Christian film. Such an awesome message for men to take on the most important and highest calling as leaders of their households. I would love to win “Ring the Bell”!

  8. My favorite christian movie would have to be Fireproof! 🙂

  9. Loved Facing the Giants, Courageous and Fireproof. Have favorite scenes from each, but I’m not sure I can pick one favorite movie.

  11. Tanya Bratz says:

I’ve been wanting to see this movie as well as Unconditional! It’s hard to pick a favorite from Provident Films; they all have such powerful messages mixed into an overall great movie.

  12. My favorite Christian movie is probably Facing the Giants. Simply because it came out when my husband and I were four year into our struggle with infertility. We totally identified with the theme of the movie. After being told we had a 2% chance of ever conceiving naturally, we are now blessed to be welcoming our third little miracle into our family in about two weeks! God’s timing is perfect and He is the Great Physician! Giving up our control and allowing Him to mold our faith was one of the toughest experiences of our lives. However, the wait was so worth it as we rejoice in two amazing children and anticipate the arrival of our third!

  13. I haven’t seen too many christian movies..but i did like the book “fireproof” and want to see the movie.

  14. Melissa K says:

I have several favorite movies, and one of them is Fireproof.

  15. Wow! My favorite Christian movie… that is a hard one. There have been so many good ones made lately. My old favorite was “Joshua” (2002) starring Tony Goldwyn, but now I have so many on the shelf, many of them Provident films. Most recently, we saw “Home Run”, which was very good. I enjoy re-watching all of the movies made by the Sherwood Baptist Church with Provident Films. I don’t think I ever laughed so hard as I did with the Snake Kings scenes in “Courageous”!

  16. I love Provident Films & all that they are doing for the cause of Christ!

  17. Brenda Hinson says:

I really like the movie Courageous but there are a lot of really good Christian movies out there now.

  18. My favorite Christian film is Esther, though all of Sherwood Pictures films are a close second.

  19. I really like Facing the Giants and The Left Behind movies.

  20. I loved Fireproof

  21. My favorite Christian movies are Fireproof and Faith like Potatoes.

  22. Sara Hanna says:

There are so many Christians Movies that I love. Perhaps “The Inheritance” is my favorite one. I would love to win this one:) Thank you for the opportunity and for your posts for us to enjoy!!!

  23. Nicole P. says:

I really love Facing the Giants…and all the Sherwood/Provident films are great! I’m bummed to say I haven’t seen Courageous yet though.

  24. I don’t know if I have a favorite, but I have OctoberBaby in my cue and am looking forward to watching it.

  25. TMichelle says:

    Oh, I’d love to win!

  26. I think OctoberBaby is my favorite Christian movie right now. But I also really enjoy Courageous & Fireproof.

  27. We did enjoy Courageous and Facing the Giants. Not sure about a favorite though. Don’t beat yourself up about the Bible Challenge mixups. We all do it–just goes to show you are human after all :).

  28. Michele M says:

It’s so hard to choose a favorite. All of the Sherwood films are our family favorites, and Christian films have definitely gotten better in the past few years.

  29. Hi Rachel,

It’s okay that you got the days mixed up. I’ve done that at different times, and I’m sure that is the reason why you were prompted at the beginning of the announcement for the bible reading challenge to print out a reading schedule for the year.

  30. My family really likes Courageous. But it’s really hard to pick a favorite.

  31. I didn’t leave my favorite Christian movie above – – hmm…. hard to choose. More recently I’ve seen Sarah’s Choice with Rebecca St. James which has a wonderful message for women and is the story about “Sarah” dealing with an unexpected pregnancy. Appropriate for tweens and up. The movie Courageous was very well done.

  32. Thanks Rachel, I’d love a chance to win this DVD and would donate it to our church library (after I watched it of course). I’ve seen the other movies by this group and each one is better. Can’t wait to see it. Thanks again for the offer to win, and the review.
