As we have studied Proverbs the last two months in the 2015 Bible reading challenge, I have noticed that I’m praying for wisdom more. Perhaps this is because I am learning how important wisdom truly is. That’s a good thing, right? Today I’m sharing this simple prayer for wisdom with you.

A Prayer for Wisdom

Dear Father,
Your wisdom is above all
And today I praise you for being the all-wise God.
Though my mind is incapable
of understanding all your ways,
I trust that you keep every one of your promises.
You are good
And you make all things for my good.
While I know this is true, I often fail
To be wise in applying this truth.
Help me, Father. I need you.
I need the heavenly wisdom
That can only come from you.
Give me the strength to pursue it;
Give me the power to practice it
And I’ll praise your name.
Amen.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Rachel

  1. First thanks for sharing such prayer. The Bible tells us to trust in the LORD with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding according to (Proverbs 3:5). Wisdom is truly something that we as believers need in order to avoid falling into serious problems that could have been avoided. As human, we tend to allow our feeling and emotion to get the most of us instead of allowing our lives to be guided by principle found within the Word of God.
