November is complete and so is another Bible reading chalelnge! Let’s take a peek at the last few days of the reading. #onemorestep

Have you ever had a couple days that took you completely by surprise? Had to go a different route than planned? That happened to me on Sunday and Monday, as Taylor, my special needs daughter, suffered a sudden onset of pain that baffled my husband and me. We are still trying to determine exactly what is bothering her, but she appears to be improving significantly and steadily and I’m just so thankful.

All that to let you know that I had planned to post this  on Monday to close out the month of November and provide the One More Step Bible reading final summary. But things don’t always work out the way we anticipate, right? So let’s take a peek at the last few days of the reading.

Psalm 138:1-8

"If we are in a habit of praying regularly, then when that overwhelmed feeling threatens us, our prayer reflex will kick in automatically. This is why keeping an open lifeline to God is so important. We need it continually and our heavenly Father loves to hear from us.... Prayer should be our first response, not our last resort. - One More Step. #onemorestep

Psalm 65:1-6
Psalm 65:7-13

Psalm 147:10-20

Snagged a few quiet moments to finish up the One More Step Bible reading plan from yesterday. Taylor is not feeling well and has required almost all my attention for two days. In the quiet last night and early this morning, God reassured me through his word. "He strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your children within you." Before Taylor was ever born, God had prepared a unique plan for her, just as he has for you. Live it to your full potential today by taking one more step in his strength! #onemorestep

Testimony

Though I was posting a day late, I chose to post my Bible journaling from Sunday when I finished it up Monday night. And I was blessed to read one of the sweetest testimonies about this challenge:

Thank you @rachelwojo for blessing me with your reading plans. I read my bible every day for 30 days in a row for probably the first time ever! I’m so excited to see what words from God #TheLight will bring me during December. Praying for you and your lovely family xxx

What a cool thing to see God drawing her closer day by day! And what a sweet encouragement to my heart from Elizabeth.

I hope you are joining in The Light Bible reading challenge for December!

And I’m looking forward to seeing some of you at events this week! Be sure to check the calendar for locations and specifics.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Rachel

  1. Prayers for Taylor & your family.

When I read your summary, I found it interesting that the verse about the mountains was what stood out for you, as here in Northern Australia, we are eagerly awaiting a good dose of RAIN! So Psalm 65:9-11 really stood out for me!

    My dear new friend Rachel,

I say this because I feel as though we have known each other for ever~~in fact, it’s a good kind of strange
as I feel like we are more then just sister’s in Christ, i mean I feel like your my real sister…..obviously this Is not possible as I am pretty sure I would know if i had 3 sisters instead of the two, one older and
one younger….yep, the middle kid here…LOL…..First of all I want you to know that as soon as I read about your precious Taylor I went into immediate prayer, fearing what I was going to be reading next, but thank the Lord , sounds like she is doing better? Just want you to know how much you continue to bless my life….almost done with my one step book…been a bit ill, just not taking good care of me, and getting no sleep….just know your all in my prayers, and I want to visit your blog page asap..not been there as of yet…..Its only and always because of him…Jesus…XOXOKaren

    1. Thank you for the visit and for your prayers, Karen! God is gracious and she is holding her own. May the peace of his love flood you.

  3. Debi Douglass says:

Thank you Rachel, for posting daily. I’ve read your thought for over a month. I’m very inspired by you. Even when I don’t do any other reading in afternoon, I read yours. I hope and pray you keep up the monthly bible challenges. They aren’t too lengthy to get lost in the words, but just right amount so we can understand and focus on. Keep it up we are depending on you. I really appreciate you not only posting to Instagram and Facebook. I don’t use those. So I read what is on your blog, and links like this one. I was feeling overwhelmed today, with an amount of pain that is unbearable but after reading your stuff, I felt like God is with me. Blessings to you and your family. Debi

    1. Bless you, Debi! Praying God’s peace for you today!!
