Welcome! We have arrived at the God Is Bigger Bible Reading Summary Week 3! I can’t believe we are already this far along in the Bible reading plan. Time flies when you are having fun, huh? I have loved this series of Scripture readings and look forward to what God has for us yet to come. In the mean time, let’s take a glance back over the last week, shall we?
1 Corinthians 1:25-31
In Paul’s writing to the church at Corinth, he is encouraging them to take a good look at themselves- their backgrounds, their financial status, and their heritage. These people had come from essentially nothing, yet look at how far God brought them!
Jesus, may this be our prayer. May you enlighten our eyes so much that we see with our hearts and nothing more. For when we see with the eyes of our hearts, then we begin to see that truly#GodIsBigger !
1 Timothy 6:12-19
This passage is so beautiful, especially verses 15&16.
…he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.
If you need to remember God is bigger, these verses are right on point!
When I begin to comprehend the limitations of my human mind and praise God for who He is, then I’ve learned that #GodIsBigger .
David’s faith in God is radical. In this psalm, he talks about how faithful the Lord has been to deliver him in the past. This is how he knows that God deliver him once again. How has the Lord delivered you in the past? Remind yourself of his miraculous work in your life when you need to know that #GodIsBigger.
2 Corinthians 13:1-5
Just a note to self this morning: #GodIsBigger than MPS!!! And cancer and heart problems and depression and discouragement. He’s bigger than that job you need, money you don’t have, and stuff you can’t buy. “He was crucified in weakness but lives by God’s power. So we are weak in Him, but live by God’s power.”
Is there any other way to live than in his strength? Because when I rely on my own, I am totally forgetting that#GodIsBigger !!
And we closed out the week’s study with these words:
with God all things are possible.
There was so much depth in the verses this week!! I have been super pumped that my journaling Bible arrived this week and I have been enjoying it so very much. While there are many benefits to Bible journaling, the biggest one for me is that it helps me slow down and meditate on the verses while I take my time scripting. Even when I don’t have a ton of time to journal, I’ve tried to use the time I do have to think and pray over the words, asking the Lord for the message he would say to me through his living word.
Have a fabulous Friday!
PS: I’m a little behind on my work! So sorry about the late blog post this Friday. Yesterday was my Samuel’s birthday- 10 already!
