Fridays, I love to write. This writer chic friend of mine, The Gypsy Mama, gives a word and we just write for it. For 5 minutes. No if’s, and’s or but’s. So here we go:

Opportunity

She never expected to be more than another village woman.  After all, women of her day were rarely chosen to do anything but care for their families and homes.  Oh, there were all walks of life: singles, grandmothers, merchants, slaves…

However, she trusted God.  Always had.  Her faith was everything.

One evening, out of nowhere, an angel appeared before her eyes.  Bright and gleaming, his message was just as shocking!

Mary had been chosen to usher the God of this world into humanity.

Before she could even fathom that she was physically with child, this angel is telling her that this child is one of  a kind- the very Child of God.

She marvels at God’s power as she has not physically entered a relationship with her fiance, Joseph.  She wonders at the possibility of being discarded by the one she loves as a result of the situation.

But Joseph is prepared by an angel as well.

Together they will raise the Son of the Heavenly Father.

The Promised One.

The long-awaited Messiah.

Together, they embrace

the opportunity of a lifetime.
