Hey Friends- I decided it might be a good idea if we have a separate post each Monday for the Bible Reading Challenge to use as the Bible Reading Challenge Check-In. I want to be sure we have that weekly accountability to keep reading, no matter where we are in the journey.

So let me know what you think about the opportunity to have a post especially created for the Bible Reading Challenge!

And now for our purpose- how’s the reading going? We’re at Day 20 and my prayer is that you are going strong, but if you aren’t, remember the point of reading is to fall in love with God’s Word. Little by little, day by day. He loves us so!

Would you leave us a comment to check in for the 2014 Bible Reading Challenge today?

  1. Last week was a super tough week for us and I got behind trying to keep sane… But, I’m doubling up a couple days to get back on track 🙂 I am loving it do far though and can’t wait to be back on track!

  2. I’m on track! I love the Olive Tree app! I love the idea of a special check in. I forgot to check in last week. Sorry.

  3. We have had a long bout with the flu, all of us at one time or another. I am quite behind, and will need to work at getting caught up.

I fall behind on the weekends, but am catching up tonight! My weekends are so unstructured! I’m spending more time in Matthew, since I’ve pretty recently read Gen, Neh, and Acts, so that’s what I’ve been focusing on the most. Love the idea of a separate post for checking in!

  5. Love the idea of seperate post. Like seeing how all y’all are doing. Keeping on track thanks to developed habit of starting the day with my time in the Bible. Thanks

  6. Jessica H says:

I have been doing great. Right on track. I have been using the youVersion which I find that letting the app read to me while I following along works better for me. I am really enjoying this challenge.

  7. Stephanie Geyer says:

I am actually a little ahead this week. (Last week I was behind.) so it is amazing how interesting it is,and how quickly the time goes by when I am reading the Bible!

  8. Nikki Ward says:

I’ve been off and on track….on track again at this point! But I love the way you put it, falling in love with God’s word. I don’t want to ever think of it as a chore! Thanks Rachel!

  9. Christina says:

I was a little behind but caught up last night! I am going to ask everyone to please pray for my Daddy – he is having his heart shocked tomorrow morning. Thank-you!

  10. I am right on track. I like receiving the daily email telling me what to read for the day.

I got behind – competing priorities like all women! But I used today’s holiday off from work to get caught up and back on track. I set my alarm instead of sleeping, made a special cup of coffee just for me since i was home alone and curled up on the couch and spent time catching up – because I wanted to not out of guilt. Now I feel prepared to spend time getting ready for this week’s lesson in the women’s study I am facilitating weekly. But before I launch into that I decided to spend a few moments knitting (learning with an online class) to just allow my quiet time to seep in before I begin the study. Being creative even for a few minutes seems to carry that spirit into my preparation. So off for a few more minutes of purl practice and then on to Jen Hatmaker!

  12. I love the Monday check-in idea! Personally, I am right on track and loving it. I have made my reading part of my nightly routine so now, instead of reading a novel or something before bed, I am doing my daily reading on Olive Tree. I find myself looking forward to that quiet time every night before I drift off to sleep much more so than I have in the past when reading other things. Yay! 😀

  13. What about peoples reflections/insights in their quiet times? What about a word or a sentence to capture, share a new insight into God’s heart, or into their own heart theyve experienced in their reading time….Here’s one from me from matthew 13:53-58 reading “He (Jesus) didn’t do many miracles there because of their hostile indifference” how i could relate to this, having a hostile heart towards God…also the in one breath captivated by God and then the next offended, defensive, hostile!

  14. How do I find where the challenge begins?

  15. I’m on schedule and really enjoying the challenge to read every day!

  16. Day 20 and still going! LOVE the Olive Tree app!!! Definitely makes it easier to stay on track and keep up while on the go…

  17. I’m doing good. Got caught up on my reading over the weekend.

  18. Linda in Maryville says:

One day behind, but will catch up by doing double duty. Grateful for the opportunity to join in and grow closer to God.

  19. Heather P says:

Taking it daily and still on track.

  20. Jennifer Stone says:

I’m a little behind after a very busy weekend, but will catch up over the next few days. I’m loving it though. All the way over in little old New Zealand.

  21. Brittany Freeman says:

I am a little behind but I am taking a little extra time this week to try and get caught up by next Sunday. I printed off the study so that I am able to keep up and track where I am at. I am loving the interchange of the stories and the ability to have small goals in accomplishing my goal of reading the Bible.

I think having a separate post on Monday’s is a great way to do check-in’s 😀

Best of luck reading I hope all of my fellow women in this challenge are enjoying this wonderful journey and are having success with your reading.

  22. Jan Mulroy says:

I’m ahead just a little right now and loving the challenge!

  23. Hi Rachel! Not so sure where I am in the plan, but I am enjoying taking my time and reading my Bible every morning during my quiet time and at night when I am not too tired to really read it! Thanks for all the encouragement you offer! By the way, I have been praying your prayer for Monday each week since you wrote it. It is def one of my favorites! I do love them all! The Wojo’s are always in my prayers! Especially Taylor! God bless!

  24. Definitely love the idea of a separate post for the check in!!! As for me I’m going strong and loving it!!!
