Hello Friends! Day 2 of the Bible Reading Challenge. I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am.

Today my post is up at Candace Cameron Bure’s online magazine, RooMag. (goes live Wednesday morning.) With the holiday season behind us, January is a month of renewal. To be honest, I am not a huge fan of winter, but it does force a certain amount of seasonal rest and rest is a part of God’s plan for us. (As we read in Genesis 2 today as part of our Bible reading challenge!

Isn’t it interesting to find David quoted in the book of Acts? If I had to guess the reference for the verse below, I wouldn’t guess Acts. Though this refers to the words in the Psalms, which is in the Old Testament, the words were relevant for the New Testament scenario. They are still relevant for us today!
May you know joy in the presence of God today.

I am finding so much joy in reading the bible today. My daughter caught me and it lead to a nice conversation. What a blessing.
I spotlighted you here: http://blogsofgoodness.blogspot.com/2013/01/rachel-wojnarowski.html
I just want to pass the goodness on.
Have a wonderful Day!
Woohoo! Love it when the kids get involved.
Thanks for the spotlight- shared across my social media.
I loved the correlation of how in Genesis 2:7 God breathed life into Adam thus creating us. Then in Matthew, He sent His son to save us. And finally in Acts He fills us with the Holy Spirit to complete us. I just love how every time I read my Bible different things stand out and make me stop and think in a new way
Day 2 done! My husband was sooo tired but we still managed to do our own devotional time and then I did your day 2 reading. Praying we can keep this up for all 365 days! Thanks for the push to get started doing this!
Way to go!! Yes, keep pushing.
Can someone give me some insight into the part of Ezra that we read that detailed that King Herod had all the 2 and under boys killed? I understand why he did it, but I’m wondering how to understand that the Lord allowed that to happen. Thoughts?
Great question, Kristi. For me that question boils down to why God allows any evil to prevail, even if only temporarily. From my perspective, the answer is that as humans, we can’t see the full picture of eternity. Even if we could see it, we don’t have the ability to comprehend it. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. ” Isaiah 55:8 I rest in the fact that one day, our minds will be returned to their original status- we will be like Christ and we will then understand. (I John 3:2) Hope this helps you Girl!
