AND THE WINNER IS: Karen Logan!! Check your messages and have a marvelous Monday!

Free Friday treat for you today!
Two fantastic DVD’s to give away. Both GiGi, God’s Little Princess.
The first is “God Made Princesses in All Shapes and Sizes.” This DVD includes 4 classic episodes and the summary on the back of the DVD states:
Sometimes it’s easy for a princess to get caught up in the “looks” department, whether she’s straightening her tiara or trying out for the soccer team. God made each of His daughters with her own unique look, and the beauty He looks for is found in the heart.
Alright. A. I’m not a princess by any means, but well, what girl can’t relate to that first statement? And B. So thankful for a great way to teach this to my own sweet girls!
The second is “Real Princesses Treat Everyone Like Royalty.” This DVD also has 4 episodes, centered around the concept of helping others to feel special.
This DVD is resonating with me today, as yesterday I just watched Week 5 of the James- Mercy Triumphs study by Beth Moore. She told a story of how she said hello to a lady who was cleaning the public restroom at the airport. The woman said to Beth, “You’re nice lady.” Beth looked her in the eyes and said “What did I do? I just said hello.”
The woman replied, “Most people treat me like I’m not even here.”
How important for my sweet girls to treat others with dignity, respect, and kindness!
Thanks to Sheila Walsh for her wonderful way of teaching these concepts!
Giveaway open until 9 pm, EST, Sunday, February 19. Winner announced Monday morning in this post.

Ok- first of all, I do not have girls but have nieces and would love to give this to them. I love Sheila Walsh’s stuff. The excerpt above talking about saying hello to the employee cleaning the airport restroom was great. Whenever I’m out in public, I try to make sure to say hello and please and thank you to those around-and give a smile. It’s neat seeing the effect it has on some and even more, the effect it has on my oldest son. He follows my example and lovingly says hello to people as well and seems very comfortable doing it.

I would have to say the getting caught up in the “looking at the outward” probably hits me the most. So glad that Jesus knows our hearts. I’ve been talking about this very thing this week with my daughter. What a great way to follow that up with the DVD and talk some more.
Thanks for such a great gift!
I already subscribe to your wonderful blog. Thanks for all you share!
I relate most to the comment about Beth saying hello to the woman in the restroom. I try SO hard to say “hi” to everyone I run into because it feels good when others do the same to me. I have always been a talkative person, so its easy for me to extend “hellos”, but I think I do it mainly to make people feel better about themselves and recognized. It just makes me sad when I see people ignored over and over.
I wept during the video as Beth told the story. Just was so very sad to me. Living in “northern” country, my country roots show up a bit with the hellos. I’ve lived here so long now, I’m afraid I’m not as friendly as I once was. Sounds like a trip to the south is in order to refresh my memory!
I subscribe to your blog…and love it by the way.
Thank you Friend!
I love the example about treating people with dignity and respect. That is a perfect example of how modeling that behavior is so important for our girls to see. These videos look wonderful!

The beauty God looks for is found in the heart.
I would love to win either for Frankie, but especially the second. She asked Jesus into her little heart this month, and I am gently encouraging her in what her new position as a princess in God’s Kingdom means.
YAY For Frankie!! And for mom!! Nothing sweeter.
One of the reasons I love GiGi books and DVD’s for my daughter is her unique look
Lots of our immediate family has blonde hair, blue eyes, and is rail thin (or like my daughter Claire phrases it “looks like Cinderella”) – so there was a time Claire told be she didn’t feel pretty (her father is Puerto Rican and she inherited his thick dark hair, deep brown eyes, and olive skin). I was heartbroken she didn’t feel pretty… but after telling her how God worked so hard to make sure she was the perfect mix of Mommy & Daddy (and that he made her hair and eyes the color of the yummiest thing of earth – chocolate, lol) I could see her spirits lift. Now on the days that I’m not feeling so pretty she’s the first to point out how God made me perfect and she loves our family <3 I think she see's a lot of herself in the charcter of GiGi
“God Made Princesses in All Shapes and Sizes.”
Love this. Funny how I am one that wishes I looked like your daughter.
Yes, God makes us in all shapes and sizes, for sure.
I think this would be a great way to introduce CC to godly principles. Although she is young, I truly believe gradually introducing her to a DVD like this and replacing other tv shows that focus on beauty on the outside she will grow knowing and believing she is the beautiful princess of God, and that is all that matters.
I think this would encourage her not to be focused on the outward appearance but on her heart and whether it is right towards God.
